Spring Time Makeup

One of my favorite colors for makeup is pink. Any pink product will automatically be added to my personal makeup collection. MAC Cosmetics released a new line of make called Flamingo Park which contains a collections pink makeup products sold at MAC. The collection is inspired by pink flamingo designed by artist Don Featherstone. Flamingos are stables in the American culture in the 1960’s. You could drive down any suburban neighborhood and see a flamingo posted in someone’s yard. The product line is a tribute to Don Featherstone who past away earlier this year. The Modern Mary Black Dresses

This picture is an ad for a beautiful dress. This dress belongs to the great couture dress maker Mary Black. She owned a boutique in NY in the 1960’s and make one of kind vintage dresses. Mary made exclusive dresses for her clients and used fabrics from all around Europe. She started her business in London in 1930 and moved her business to United States during the 1960’s. Her dresses are rare and worth thousands of dollars today.  Not much is know about her life or how she built her brand, but the images of her dresses tells a story.  Continue reading →
